Top 6 Reasons to Have a Barn Wedding
Barn Weddings
The traditional design and use of the “barn” have evolved tremendously over the years, particularly in the wedding industry. Couples are learning to embrace their own styles and daring to venture beyond tradition and cookie-cutter weddings.
Why? Barn weddings arrived on scene in a subtle manner a few years ago, but their popularity continues to gain rapid momentum, and not just with brides looking for a casual, rustic wedding theme. Nowadays, couples are revolutionizing their barn weddings to include every type of wedding theme, while incorporating their own take on tradition. They can be as elegant, as casual, as rustic, as lavish, or as personalized as a couple wants which is a freedom most venues can’t offer.
More and more couples are now expressing their desire to simply create an experience for their guests to have fun. They want their wedding to be a day that not only they enjoyed, but their guests did as well. It comes naturally within the diamond in the rough characterists of a barn setting with fire pits, animals roaming throughout the grounds, outdoor spaces for yard games, and overnight accommodations. There is just something about attending a barn wedding that tells guests they are going to have a good time.

The Stable at Riverview Wedding Venue
Although the Stable at Riverview is now mostly a pleasure farm, it was originally a productive working farm. Purchased by Tom and Jean Hauser in the early 1960’s, the property was used as a livestock, tobacco, and row crop farm … even farming with horses for several years. The farm provided sustenance to raise 5 children and was the preferred location for many Hauser family gatherings and a summer retreat for many cousins (they thought it was work).
The property was acquired by Pat Hauser (son) and his wife Suzie in 2005. Major property restoration projects began including land clearing, new pastures, conservation easements, ponds, roads and fencing. New structures, with the help of Hearhstone, followed and finally the addition of horses.
Hosting Happily Ever Afters
Using the property as an event venue grew organically as family and friends made requests for weddings and reunions. They thought, what better way to share the rustic serene surroundings than to host happily ever afters in their very own natural sanctuary.
he Stable at Riverview is a beautifully, Natural NC Barn Venue that has been hosting Barn Weddings since 2010, each one unique in it’s own way. Far removed from the hustle and bustle of interstates and city lights, the venue provides panoramic views overlooking the Yadkin River of Davie County in North Carolina.
