About Hearthstone · 3 min read
If you read a Hearthstone contract, proposal, or see a crew raise day on your site, you may notice the name Mountain Timber Structures, LLC. It is not a different company in the way most people think. It is the construction entity that sits alongside Hearthstone, Inc. — same ownership, same shop, same people walking the same floorboards every morning.
One designs and supplies. The other raises.
Hearthstone, Inc. is the design, supply, and manufacturing side: the plans, the timber package, the logs, the joinery, the engineering, and the relationship with you. Mountain Timber Structures, LLC is the labor side: the crew that shows up with the crane, the straps, the pegs, and the experience to raise the frame or stack the walls true and square.

The raising is the most photographed day of the job.
- Timber frame raising: setting posts, beams, trusses, and braces on your foundation.
- Log wall stacking: hand-hewn or milled log courses, notched and fitted in the field.
- Erection and dry-in crew work, depending on the package and schedule.
- On-site joinery, pegging, and finish trimming to make the frame fit the foundation.
Same address. Same shop. Same standard.
Mountain Timber Structures operates from the same Dandridge, Tennessee headquarters as Hearthstone, Inc. The same crew leaders, the same crane operators, and the same craft standard apply whether the paperwork says Hearthstone or MTS. The separation is structural and contractual — it does not change who answers the phone, who cuts the timber, or who stands on your slab with a come-along.
We are not a subcontractor you hope shows up on time. We are the same crew, with the same name on our shop badge, doing the part of the job that happens in the field.
If your lender, builder, or attorney asks about the MTS name, you can explain it simply: Hearthstone supplies the house; Mountain Timber Structures raises it. Both are part of the same family, working under the same roof and toward the same finished home.
